Always smiling, Baylee combed my dad’s hair down and showed incredible compassion and respect to him with each visit.
My father was moved to Louisiana Extended Care for 10 days of rehab and physical therapy. He was dealing with several issues and often needed assistance. Baylee, our nurse, was there to help through every difficult step I was facing while keeping my independent-minded father comfortable.

She referred to his bright yellow socks as “Big Bird Socks” as she changed his compression socks several times. Always smiling, Baylee combed my dad’s hair down and showed incredible compassion and respect to him with each visit. She would say, “Now you look handsome,” before walking out of the room.

We were in our last few hours and did not know this; he passed away at 83 years old just days later. I am thankful that this kind and gracious young lady chose nursing as her career, and my dad had a chance to meet her. I now have two pairs of these “Big Bird Socks” that mean so much to me.

Thank you to the great nurses on the 4th floor.  I was not there when he passed, but grateful he was not alone.

Baylee, you are a very special and compassionate nurse.
