As we arrived at the Labor and Delivery unit, Baylie immediately greeted us and placed us comfortably in our room. She knew we were here to deliver our stillborn child. The first thing she said to us was that we would get through this together. The experience of losing our baby has been horrific. Baylie was there for us the entire day. Giving excellent care, wiping our tears, and holding my hand through every moment. It made the worst day of my life a little less horrible. I will never forget her kindness in my darkest of days, how she held us while we grieved our daughter. We later found out that this was her first loss as an OB Nurse. You would have never known. If there is a woman who deserves to be recognized, it is Baylie. May she encounter many more mothers who need her loving heart.
