My dad went into the hospital and straight into the ICU. He had internal bleeding, low potassium, and low blood pressure. I needed blood transfusions. It was a very scary time, and from day to day, he didn't know what his destiny would be. Through it all, there was one nurse who stood out as being exceptional, Beanne Vega. Every time she entered the room, her demeanor and spirit comforted us through this traumatic time. She offered an explanation for everything she was doing with my dad without us asking. She was also very empathetic with my dad when he was in pain and needed several IV sites. She was courteous, professional, and had a very good bedside manner. She could always ask us if we needed anything or if we had any questions, and assured us that she would take good care of our dad. Any request we had, she was on it immediately. She's a nurse who went above and beyond the call of duty. You could tell she loved her job and met her calling in life to be one of the best nurses I've ever encountered. She is worthy of being recognized for her dedicated support to her patients. I will always remember her with love, compassion, and gratefulness.
