My 12-year-old daughter, A, had to have a hernia removal surgery. Becky was my daughter's Anesthesia Provider that day. Becky went above and beyond her job by making sure that my daughter wasn’t afraid and fully understood everything that was going to happen to her. When they were rolling my daughter back to the OR, she became very scared with huge alligator tears in her eyes. As the circulator started to play A's favorite song, Becky began a dance party from preop to the OR. As they danced their way to the OR, all the passing staff members were instructed to dance for A, and without question they all did! A said Becky’s dance party really made the OR become unscary when mommy couldn’t go any further with her! Becky comforted my daughter without hesitation as if it was her child going to the OR. She was handpicked by my daughter for this case and without hesitation, she jumped on making her schedule- rearranging things to accommodate being able to be her provider.

Becky got laughs and giggles and smiles with ease, and was truly a blessing to A! Without Becky and the rest of the OR staff (even in passing) my daughter had, her surgery and experience at Phelps Health wouldn’t have been as fantastic and smooth as it was! One so wonderful, that she isn’t afraid of having to need surgery (we hope never again) in the future if it is needed. So from the bottom of my heart and to your thankless job Becky- A, myself, and our little family want you to know how much we truly appreciate you, thank you, and will never forget this experience! You are truly the BEST and we couldn’t have had a better Anesthesia Provider for the job! We love you!!
