My reason for writing you is to express my appreciation for the excellent nursing care that I received while in your SICU. I could have not asked for better care. My nurse, Becky Henke, exemplifies what I would consider the ideal nurse. She is a consummate dedicated professional who is composed and focused under pressure yet has a compassionate attitude and is sensitive to the needs and wishes of the patient as well as family.

I have recently been reading about the DAISY Award for compassionate nurses. In my view, Becky's performance exemplifies the principles and standards that the folks who created the DAISY Award were trying to recognize, promote, and reward in a nursing staff.

I hope that you will share with Becky and her supervisor, my appreciation for, and my great satisfaction with, the excellent and compassionate nursing care that I received during my stay in the SICU.
