Becky was getting push back from a patient who did not want to be discharged but was medically ready. The patient had a new diagnosis of congestive heart failure and after speaking with the doctor about letting the patient stay one more night, Becky had to deliver the message that the doctor said "no" and she must leave the hospital. Becky did a PHENOMENAL job of delivering such hard news. She was sensitive, professional, and empathetic and acknowledged with the patient how hard it must be for her to have to deal with this alone. The way Becky handled this situation blew me away! The patient discharged that day. I could not be prouder to work with such a special nurse!
