The entire team went above and beyond, but Tracy and Becky were instrumental in bulldogging the entire process to get it taken care of immediately.
I come to the Infusion Center for my weekly dressing change and monthly blood draw. My IV central line developed a leak over the weekend. My nurse, Becky, found the Charge Nurse, Tracy. We went over the options and together they contacted my PCP to get orders to have the IV line removed in the Special Procedures area to get a new port put in. It was a lot of calls and management to get this taken care of immediately since this leak could have caused an infection. They also arranged to have my infusion completed the next morning in the Infusion Center: orders for the saline, magnesium, and potassium that are added and set aside a time slot. Once the orders were in and insurance approved, they walked me to the SP area and handed me off to them. I was then able to get everything taken care of by removing the IV line and getting the new port in so that I could still get home and do my home infusion. I had the nurse in the SP area cancel my early morning appointment in the Infusion Center. The entire team went above and beyond, but Tracy and Becky were instrumental in bulldogging the entire process to get it taken care of immediately. Thanks to them, I continue my treatment with little change.
