My son spent 82 days in the NICU with an eventually fatal cytomegalovirus infection. During our stay at St Mary's the NICU staff became family to us. I love them all dearly. But one NICU nurse was always there for us. Her name is Becky. She loved our son so much and she always went above and beyond with her care and selfless compassion. She was always there if I needed someone to talk to with my fears, worries both personal and with my son. Becky not only spent hours listening, but she offered genuine heartfelt advice and wisdom from her experiences in life.

When he was nearing the final hours of his life we had wished that Becky was there. Sadly it was her night off, but that didn't matter to her. The NICU staff called her and within 20 minutes she was there. She sat with us while caring for our son for several hours. Because of Becky, he passed away the best way possible, peacefully with the three people that loved him the most.

She is, in every sense of the word, Extraordinary. I feel so blessed to have met her and I will never forget all she has done for us. We love you Becky!
