Belinda is well known among our patients as their guardian angel, a title she has earned through her profound kindness and ability to make patients feel truly at ease. Many ask for hugs, a testament to the comfort and reassurance she provides during their most vulnerable moments. She treats every patient with dignity, respect, and an unparalleled level of personal attention, ensuring they feel supported in all aspects of their care.

Her dedication extends beyond the bedside. For patients facing difficult social circumstances, she proactively calls ahead of appointments to confirm transportation, ensuring they can access the care they need. She sat with one of our patients for three hours while several Uber cars cancelled on the patient. She contacted the patient's family members and helped coordinate Ubers to have the patient picked up. She continued to call the patient until she confirmed she was safe at home.

She also coordinates with outside facilities, such as nursing homes, to guarantee seamless transitions by arranging EMS transport, ensuring rooms can accommodate stretchers, and confirming same-day imaging and biopsy scheduling. She ensured an 89-year-old bed-bound patient had all the resources in place to make her appointment to meet with the breast surgeon. She coordinated with the imaging department to have them bring their ultrasound machine to the patient, rather than having her move to a different section of the hospital. Her meticulous approach minimizes the burden on patients and their families, demonstrating her commitment to holistic, patient-centered care.

Belinda is also an exceptional leader in critical situations. As the primary lead on all patient codes in our office, she remains calm under pressure, exhibiting outstanding clinical skill, attention to detail, and a steadfast focus on patient safety. As a previous ER nurse, she is well-equipped to handle all codes that occur in the office.

A patient coded during an exam, and she was able to start an IV, call the rapid response team, and get her transported to the emergency room quickly. Her expertise and confidence in high-stakes situations set a standard of excellence that inspires those around her. Beyond her direct patient care, Belinda is a true team player and an integral part of our department's success. She takes the time to educate and mentor staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and growth.
