In the 11 years that Belinda has been with Children’s, she’s progressed from a new graduate to one of the most experienced nurses on the unit. She anticipates her patients’ needs and is able to quickly evaluate their condition and intervene accordingly. In emergency situations, she projects an air of calmness, which reassures patients, their families and her coworkers. Belinda regularly supports, encourages and recognizes her staff, sending ‘Celebrations! Points’ as a thank you and doing little things to make their shift better. She is a caring, compassionate and nurturing person, which transcends into the care she provides. “Belinda is so soothing and wonderful. We feel very comfortable going home to sleep and leaving our child in her hands,” one of her patients’ families shared.
