In the morning/tail end of the night shift, my wife was brought into the delivery room for the Oxytocin drip stage of her induction. Bello was in there helping the other midwives sort out the drip and cannula. She was bubbly and really cheerful even at the end of her shift. It helped relax my wife tremendously. By the end of the day/start of the next night shift, sadly, the induction had not helped bring our baby into the world. At the same time, my wife and I really needed someone perky to come and pick us up. Bello was more the up for the task, with her amazing personality. Sadly, our baby's heart rate dropped, and an emergency C-section was called. Bello took control of the situation. Helped me get all of our belongings to the recovery room and got myself some scrubs also. In the make shift operating theatre, while they prepped my wife, Bello sat me by my wife's side and just talked to us both. Keeping our minds off the situation, thinking positively, and laughing.

Once baby was born, he was taken to the neonatal ward. I followed suit and in there just broke down, watching as my son was going through things that I could not help with. Here again, Bello was absolutely amazing. Joking with me, keeping me up beat. She took photos of my son and I whilst I got to hold him for the first time. Bello also bounced between my wife and I to make sure that we were both okay. She kept my wife updated in the recovery room on everything. She took the photos to my wife as well, so that she could she her newly born son. Honestly, Bello went more than an extra mile to make sure that during a stressful and emotional day, my wife and I stayed sane and positive. We can't thank her enough.
