Ben took care of a patient on the Progressive Care Unit recently. I knew the patient and her family. My husband has been the patient's interim pastor for about 9 months and her granddaughter attends our church. Ben was very attentive to the patient from a co-workers standpoint but the family raved about Ben. Ben stopped me one day and stated that the patient was asking to have a picture taken with him. Following the appropriate measures to ensure it was OK he posed for the picture with the patient. The patient passed away later that day. During her visitation the family could not say enough wonderful things about PCU and especially Ben. The family said that Ben sat with the patient's children to talk, took great care of the patient, and even came in to see how she was doing on his day off. One of the pictures in her slide show at the visitation was the one she took with Ben. She was a great lady and she along with her family truly loved the care that Ben provided.
