Ben went over and above while caring for one of our patients. A woman came in with a breast mass that she had for a while. She likely had breast cancer but she did not have a primary doctor, health insurance, or even the internet to look up resources. Her husband tried to call the number to Ross Breast Center that we gave him, but found that he couldn't get seen without a referral. Ben took it upon himself to help them. He called the scheduling center to get her an appointment. He arranged for one of our clinic doctors to be listed as her primary care physician so she could get a referral. He found a source of funding to pay for her care, through the foundation. Ben basically did for this patient what she could not do, an extraordinary effort on his part. I'm very proud to work with him and call him my colleague.
