Ben Holt consistently goes above and beyond for all of his patients. One example of this occurred last October when Ben provided much-needed compassion and support to a patient with advanced heart failure. Over the course of the patient's disease, Ben developed a rapport with him and learned of his spiritual beliefs. As his health declined, his care was transitioned to palliative measures. During the patient's final days Ben sat at his bedside and read scripture to him, knowing it would provide comfort. As his medications were being discontinued and the end of his life was imminent he remained at the bedside to support the patient and his family. Ben's compassion for our patients and families is exceptional and is an example for all of us.
