Ben came in after the diagnosis and had so much compassion in his voice and mannerisms to make sure I was ok.
I went to the ER with extreme stomach pain and bleeding. Ben was my ER nurse, and right from the start he took control of the situation and my fears and let me know I was going to be ok. After having a CT scan, X-RAYS, and an ultrasound sound, I was told I had a large mass on my ovary, which was not something we expected as a diagnosis and a complete shock to us. Ben came in after the diagnosis and had so much compassion in his voice and mannerisms to make sure I was ok and asked if there was anything he could do for me, he could see I was in complete shock and wanted to just cry, and let me know it was going to be ok. As he took more blood, he made it a point to talk to me and try to take my mind off of the situation. Ben stayed by my side through the my time in the ER until I was moved to my room, and every time we had a conversation, he made sure it was a positive conversation. With all that is going on with COVID, and ERs being short-staffed, I know nurses can be frustrated at times, and can’t always be with their patients as often as they should be, and if this was the case at Anderson’s, you would never have known with the care and compassion Ben exhibited the day I was in the ER.
