Ben is always so willing to help without even asking. I was working solo tonight on STAT Team & needed to get a hypotensive patient to the ICU. The patient really needed CRRT to correct her hyponatremia. Ben assisted me with transporting the patient to CICU. I greatly appreciated his assistance with making sure the patient's care wasn't delayed. Escalating transfer & getting the care she needed helped prevent life-threatening complications.

Our night shift on the heart failure unit in general is the epitome of champion-centered care, but one shift, Ben really went above and beyond to assist with a potentially life-threatening emergency. I had to call a stroke alert on a patient that was requiring a bariatric bed. Ben walked by and noticed STAT team and I in the room attempting to move the bed so patient could get the STAT head CT. Ben had worked in transport in the past and is much more familiar with the bariatric beds than we were. He immediately identified and assisted us in getting the appropriate side rails off so the patient could fit into the elevators and into the CT room quickly and efficiently. Ben proceeded to stay with us the entire transport to lend a helping hand and ensure the patient was cared for without delay. We are so lucky to have Ben on our team!
