I feel that Ben is a nurse who consistently goes above and beyond the call of duty for not only his patients but his co-workers. He is often found helping any and every co-worker in need and he genuinely cares about every Wesley patient. He is a true example of a nurse who demonstrates "every patient, every time" and he performs well above the required duties of everyday nursing on a daily basis.
Recently, Ben took care of a patient who lived out of state. This patient was in town due to her father falling ill. Unfortunately, she fell ill herself and needed to spend several nights in the hospital. This caused her great stress as not only was she worried about her ill father, but now she was worried about her own health. To add insult to injury, this patient was checked into a hotel for her visit here and was due to check out while she was admitted. How was she going to accomplish this from her hospital bed? Ben found out that this was causing the patient even more added stress. He went to the patient's hotel after he worked his 12-hour shift and picked up all of the patient's belongings and then brought all of her things back to her hospital room. What a selfless act by Ben! He truly is an extraordinary nurse! Thanks, Ben.
