My little girl was born two months prematurely and had to stay for about a month. The day of her birth was such a scary situation. My wife C ended up in the ICU while they were taking my newborn daughter next door to the Colorado Springs Children's Hospital NICU department. I was numb and torn at that point. I wanted to be with my wife, but I also wanted to be by my daughter's side; that’s when I met Nurse Ben Dildla. He gave me the rundown on how the first hour of care for my daughter is the most important part in getting her on a healthy track. He also asked me how I was doing. Once I explained my scenario about my wife and kid both being in the hospital, he shared with me that my daughter is in very good care and that if his family had ever needed him, he would trust this team of doctors and nurses to help his family. He also told me to take care of myself and to check on momma when I need to be reassured.

Over the month-long stay, we have had Ben as our daughter's nurse a handful of times. He is very informative and very caring. He talks to you almost as if you are talking to a friend, asking about how your family is doing and letting you know how your infant's care is going to be handled and what end goals are needed to go home. During such a hard time and long stay at the hospital, Ben went above and beyond, making the stay easier. It was an honor to meet such an outstanding person.
