His gentle, nonjudgmental presence brought positive energy, and through his caring demeanor, he brought in the light with our summer solstice girl.
To truly set the stage for this story, I must first share a glimpse of our journey to parenthood. Over the course of four difficult years, we endured three heartbreaking losses and five surgeries. So, when the sixth surgery turned out to be my C-section around the summer solstice, it felt like a long-awaited miracle. But our joy quickly turned to fear when our baby struggled to breathe after birth, and we were rushed to the NICU, terrified. That’s when Ben met us with his peaceful, compassionate, and kind smile that immediately put us at ease. His gentle, nonjudgmental presence brought positive energy, and through his caring demeanor, he brought in the light with our summer solstice girl.
Ben shared that one of his coworkers had recently had a baby, and he had written her a poem. Seeing our excitement, he offered to read it to us. It was absolutely beautiful. He is truly brilliant. Just moments later, he returned with a printed copy of the poem, customized for our daughter and us, in a lovely font. It was a priceless gift; a token of remembrance for the journey we had traveled to reach the light at the end of the tunnel, finally, and the rebirth that brought us sunlight, our solstice girl.
Thank you, Ben!
