We came to Advent Celebration in the midst of our family vacation and chose the Orlando area instead of previous Caribbean destinations because of mom’s precarious health situation.

Little did we know that mom would be rushed by ambulance to a hospital after suffering a near fatal heart rhythm.

From the moment we arrived, Ben M. was absolutely incredible! Unfortunately, we have had some (too many) experiences with trips to the Emergency Department with mom in the last couple of years, and not once did we encounter a nurse with such a tremendous bedside manner—warmth, kindness, professionalism, patience, and decency.

Ben answered our questions, attended to mom’s needs, respected her privacy and dignity when helping with her soiled bed, brought humor to lighten the mood, and was so unbelievably tender in dealing with mom’s hard-to-find and even harder-to-tap veins!

This young man is a beacon of pride for your ED and should serve as an example for ED nurses everywhere! We are so grateful for the experience he provided our family and the extraordinary care he brings to his job!

As if this wasn’t enough, after seeing mom through to the ICU for the next part of her stay, he came to check on us, to make sure we had food and see if we needed anything!

He could have left off with helping transfer mom, and we would’ve been impressed and grateful enough, but this extra step—to go above and beyond to ensure that we were ok and that our needs were met!

As I said earlier, we’ve had way more hospital experiences than we would’ve liked over the last two years. Not one single nurse went out of their way in the way(s) that Ben did for us this evening.

AdventHealth Celebration is blessed to have Ben on your team, and I hope you take the opportunity to recognize and thank him for his outstanding compassion and professionalism and his dedication to providing patients at your hospital and their families an exemplary level of care and 5-star experience.

We are grateful for how he took the sheer pandemonium, chaos, and fear of ending up, mid vacation from New York, suddenly in the ED and masterfully redirected the emotions and temperature to calm, directed, and relaxed.

He’s a very special nurse!
