Nurse with compassion! I asked my loved one's nurse if I could take her outside. The medical team was apprehensive and fearful. Ben understood that I had asked my loved one the night before "if you could do anything tomorrow, what would it be?" She said, "go outside", I said, "okay, we'll do it." I told the concerned group that I'd take the full responsibility for the outcome (which I expected to be joy and healing). Ben canvased the hospital looking for an appropriate chair, he called authorities, etc. It took 5 hours and my loved one got to enjoy 1 hour and 15 minutes outside. She sang, prayed and got a little sun. And she drank a coke! Happy day! When it was all over, I cried, Ben hugged me, cried with me, he entered my world and truly empathized and had compassion.
