Since I have been in the hospital for over a week, I've had several nurses - some good, one amazing! Berenice is an incredible nurse and exemplifies everything it means to honor the legacy of sincere patient care. She was always here when I needed her and even when I didn't. Words don't adequately express my appreciation for her care and kindness. She communicated the doctor's concerns and orders to my family and me in a manner in which we could all understand. She brought extra blankets when I got the chills, made me feel comfortable when I was in pain, and just took a second to talk to me when I was crying because I was so sick.

Berenice's passion in being a genuinely caring and professional nurse is made clear in every action she takes, whether it is the "science" portion of her job requiring her to administer medication or mastering the ability to be professional yet loving and nurturing. In life, it's all about the little things and honestly, I couldn't have asked for a better human being to care for me.
