My husband and I presented to the ED with concerns that we were having a miscarriage with our first pregnancy. This was a very scary situation to be in for both of us. I am a nurse myself, but when you are the one experiencing things, all logical and prior education goes out the window. We did, unfortunately, have a spontaneous miscarriage while we were in the ED, but I am so thankful for Bernadette’s kindness, compassion, and support. She stayed in my room to simply talk and provide her support for us. As we were getting ready to leave after experiencing our loss, she offered to give me a hug and her hopes and well wishes for our journey to expand our family. She helped me feel so supported during a horrible moment in my life, and for that, I am so, so grateful for her. She helped me to feel like I was not alone in a very lonely situation. I felt like she genuinely cared for me, and that helped me tremendously in that moment. Thank you, Bernadette, for your love and support, I felt it, and I cannot thank you enough.
