Bernie Camingue is a nurse who has demonstrated a superb bedside manner with "super-human" efforts. She has exhibited great care every working day at Houston Methodist. The clinical skills, caring and compassion of Bernie who cares for me was well appreciated. I praise her sincerity and hard work as a loving and caring individual. I celebrate her nursing excellence.

There were situations where most nurses would have passed the buck to the PCA to complete. Bernie would just jump right on in and clean me without hesitation and change my linens on the bed, without waiting for anyone else to do it. If the PCA would be making up the bed, Bernie would gladly assist them with it. I have so much adoration for Bernie because she demonstrated how much she cared for me through her encouragement.
Bernie has been taking care of me since 2009 during my transplant recovery. I remember while I was recovering from my transplant and I had become bored from all my online classes. Bernie asked me to write an essay on my life's story. I did that for Bernie. She was really impressed and pleased by my testimony. She exhibits everything you would envision when thinking about what a nurse should be. She has an "old school" work ethic. She shows compassion to all her patients, family members, and staff.
Bernie's day-to-day interactions with some of the "more challenging" patients never seems to deter her from the mission of providing quality care. I noticed anytime a nurse needed assistance whether on the floor, with a difficult situation, or even just to place an IV, she was there without a complaint and a willingness to help. She genuinely loves what she does, and it shows through her enthusiasm to educate others in a way that makes them feel accomplished and competent.
Most importantly, Bernie strives to be a good person and succeeds. She interacts with patients and their families and is always there for anyone. I highly respect her for the demonstration of sincere godly love.
