My mother was admitted and showed baffling symptoms with no diagnosis. She was experiencing a rash-like outbreak of hives, and limb swelling, and was declining significantly. She's 91 but is a VERY strong and healthy woman. While the doctors were all baffled, Berthine made sure that not only was my mother comfortable, but she made sure that I was kept informed about what was going on and that we had everything we needed to keep my mother comfortable. Berthine is proof that good nursing care goes beyond administering meds and taking vital signs. She went out of her way to ensure my Mom had EVERYTHING she needed during her stay and kept me informed about everything that was going on. Truly an amazing nurse. My mom came to the hospital with a few different issues. The nursing staff was good and helpful, but I would like to thank Berthine especially who on my mom's second day made my mom perk up and laugh. She convinced her to get up and move and she was giving us the info about my mom. She spent quality time explaining and encouraging my mom and was extremely helpful with her positivity.
