I was a patient in L&D unit after getting induced for my first pregnancy. For two days, I was in a lot of pain and in fear that something was wrong with my baby since my labor was not progressing fast enough. Beth always encouraged me to have a positive mind and spirit. She would check on me frequently, and I would get so sad when she went home because I was afraid that no one else would be like her. Although every nurse in the unit was great, Beth was the best! As a UMC Employee, I was very skeptical of having my first child at UMC, but after this experience, I came to the realization that with the right people, any experience can be turned into a great memory. I gave birth to my first child in July, and the few moments leading to the delivery things got very scary, but again, Beth was there holding my hand and encouraging me that everything would be just fine. I ended up having a C-section, which was not something I wanted to do, but I am glad that all went well. After giving birth and being transferred to Postpartum, Beth continued to check on me and even offered to come to help with the baby's first bath. She met all of my family, and everyone still remembers her to this day. Beth, thank you for your love, kindness, and support. May God bless you.
