April 2026 Honoree
Beth James, RN, BSN
I am writing to share our family’s deep gratitude for the exceptional care my father received from Beth. My father was under Beth’s nursing care for a relatively short time following an angiogram, but the impact she made in those few hours was truly profound.
The results of the scan were difficult to hear. The doctor informed us that my father would require bypass surgery in the coming weeks. As you can imagine, our family was quite shaken and overwhelmed by this news. However, as the afternoon progressed and Beth began the discharge process, her presence became a steady anchor for us. She stepped into a tense situation with such a kind, empathetic, and supportive air that we immediately felt the weight lift.
Beth went above and beyond by providing reading materials and resources for his upcoming procedure, helping us transition from a state of shock to a state of being informed. What stood out most was her personal touch. She made a point to address my father by his first name, which provided a level of comfort and dignity that put him instantly at ease. No question we asked was treated as too small or silly, and she never once made us feel like we were a burden or an inconvenience to her busy schedule.
In that very short window of time, her warmth made us feel as though we had known her for years. It is often said that no matter how briefly someone enters our lives, it is their kindness and compassion that leave the most lasting mark. Beth has certainly left a permanent, positive impression on our hearts. She is an absolute gem of a Registered Nurse, and I truly hope her empathy continues to shine brightly on every patient she touches for many years to come.
