Beth's co-workers sent in several nominations recognizing her as an outstanding role model. The following are a few of the highlights:
Beth goes above and beyond for all patients. A patient arrived at the front desk and had fallen on her way to the hospital. The patient was having an exam and was on Coumadin. Beth evaluated and cleaned the wound and then made sure everyone was aware of the patient's condition.
Beth is an amazing nurse! One of her patient's was upset and afraid to go home to an abusive boyfriend. Beth contacted Case Management to get involved so she could get the assistance that she needed.
Seeing Beth interact with her patients truly amazes me every day. I have witnessed her innate ability to make herself totally available to them. Before beginning a procedure, she always ensures she provides the time, compassion, and support the patient needs to feel comfortable. I can't imagine a better patient advocate!
Beth has a passion for patient education. She works in an area where there is only a limited window of opportunity to make an impact by patient teaching. Beth makes the most of it while creating a positive impression of SMH and nursing in the process!
