Beth Mooney, RN, BSN

This past weekend the general team was called out for a case in the Hybrid OR around 1 a.m. Beth, who was on call for the heart team, was called out to assist. Beth gladly came, assisted the call team with getting the case started, and also stayed for the procedure. When the procedure was complete and the call team went home, Beth stayed in PACU to assist the PACU RN with recovery. She was there another hour and a half helping get drips started and orders completed.  Monday morning, when I spoke with Beth to thank her for her help, she brought it all back to the patient. The most important thing to her, even in the middle of the night, was ensuring the patient received the best care.

Beth is an example of what it means to be a team player who provides compassionate care. She is consistent with this positive attitude. She loves her coworkers and her job. Beth has implemented fun ideas to increase morale and recognize others. She is truly an asset to the surgery department and is deserving of The DAISY Award.
