December 2021 Honoree
Beth Smith, MSN, MA, RN, WHNP-BC
Beth was my instructor for Foundations of Nursing, one of the first courses taken in the Regis ABSN program. She saw us bright-eyed and bushy-tailed on day one too tired and unsure if we will be able to do this in the following weeks. A great professor to me is someone who fosters a positive learning environment, provides a safe space for discussion, and is open to sharing personal experiences. Beth encompasses all of those characteristics and more. She is kind, caring, empathetic, someone you can come to in a time of need and will challenge you in the classroom, at clinical, and in life as a person. Beth really opened my eyes to all the different ways a nurse can apply herself. She spent time as a SANE nurse (Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner), women's health provider, and professor. If there is a nurse a student should strive to be like, it's Beth.
Thank you, Beth, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
