For 37 years, Beth has gone above and beyond in the field of nursing. She has traveled the country sharpening her skills and being a role model. In the short 5 years, I’ve known her, she has shown me what it takes to be a well-rounded individual, a leader, and most importantly a compassionate and dedicated worker. There are too many instances of her being an amazing person to list them all, but a few things do speak to Beth as a person. First and foremost, Beth is a cancer survivor. You wouldn’t be able to tell by her drive and commitment to providing the best care to her patients, aside from the constant pain she deals with.

Secondly, she is always there when you need her, regardless of any burden it may cause her. She is a prime example of what being a good coworker and friend comes down to.

Finally, she is the biggest advocate for her patients especially when they cannot advocate for themselves. She has shown me personally what it means to be a good nurse. An OR nurse has an interesting challenge when it comes to being an advocate for our patients. From either picking up a call shift at the last minute, or ensuring our patients receive nothing short of the best care, not even cancer could keep her from being an amazing nurse and an even better person.
