Bethany was caring for a patient who had an unexpected discharge late in the afternoon. The patient was very uneasy about the discharge, and about being able to afford her important antibiotics. Bethany was patient and diligent as she sat with the patient and explained the discharge instructions in a way she could understand. Bethany reassured and comforted the patient so the patient was at ease about going home. Bethany found out how much the antibiotics were going to cost and the patient stated she would not be able to afford them. Not only did Bethany act with compassion in the way she treated the patient, she also went above and beyond by paying for her antibiotics.
