When you look up the definition of a nurse you will surely find her name, Betty Callahan.
Betty came to work here as an RN in 1966. Her original employee number was 11. She has worked here at Saline Memorial for over 56 years. She has been the head nurse in the ED and Outpatient GI lab and worked in surgery, Preop, and PACU. She has gone through many transitions in her nursing career. From wearing all-white uniforms and nursing caps to documenting on paper to an electronic medical record (which is her favorite).
Through it all Betty has shown grace and compassion. As soon as she hits the unit she is ready to work. She never complains and is there until the work is done. Betty is an inspiration to all nurses. Here are a few things her coworkers have shared: She is always willing to help. She has the most positive attitude and treats all her patients like family. Patients and staff both love her. Betty is a light to all of us. When Betty is not traveling the globe or babysitting her great-grandchildren, she is here in Outpatient GI delivering quality care to her patients. When you look up the definition of a nurse you will surely find her name, Betty Callahan.
