Betty Cortez, RN

My husband J recently underwent a brutal seven-week chemo/radiation treatment for throat cancer. There were many repercussions, including two hospital stays. As the nurse for his hematology oncologist, I contacted Betty at least two dozen times during and especially in the last two months after the treatment. Issues ranged from every side effect chemo and radiation have to offer, as well as prescription and lab needs. Betty solved so many problems for us that I’ve lost count. She even visited J while he was in the hospital. She always returned my calls and followed up with the doctor and then me. She called sometimes just to see how J was doing. In all, Betty has been a kind, caring lifeline through some really dark times. She made a hard road a little bit easier. Betty is a treasure.
