I arrived at VHC at 5am for a total hip replacement (left side). Betty Lou was the Pre-Op nurse. She was very efficient and very pleasant. She taught my husband and me a very valuable tip to use a plastic bag to get the compression stockings on. This has been a big help at home. I had a total hip replacement (right side) in May at VHC. I explained to Betty Lout that it is hard to find my veins and I bruise easily and in 2020 a nurse put the IV in my hand. It hurt more than the hip incision and the bruising was extensive. Every time I moved my hand, which was a lot, it burned. Betty Lou then took extra care to place the IV in my forearm. Never did I feel it and I never had bruising. To me, this was such a plus. Betty Lou is an ambassador for VHC and for the nursing profession. Betty Lou mentioned retirement sometime in her future. We hope her trainees learned from her. We wish her much joy good health, peace, and happiness in her retirement.

Thank you, Betty, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
