Bev Brown has dedicated nearly 40 years of her life to delivering outstanding care to her patients and growing and developing a workforce that is fully committed to the care of patients in medicine. Her passion and dedication to the care of older people in particular shines through and is inspiring to all that she works with. She personifies the Leeds Way Values and all that they represent. She is a true inspiration to all that have had the pleasure to have worked with her over the years. 

Bev has committed herself fully to the staff in both SIM and the former ESM CSUs. She has led her teams through the most difficult and challenging two years while still staying fully focused on delivering excellent care to our patients and ensuring the teams are fully supported and empowered to develop in their careers. She always manages to have a positive outlook, even on the most difficult of days she will find a silver lining and give you a reason to smile. She is such a kind and compassionate leader and values each member of her team equally. She goes above and beyond in everything that she does. I feel so honored to have had the privilege of working with Bev for so many years. She has been much more than a manager to so many; she has been a mentor, a coach, a friend, and even a mother figure when needed. She has shaped the nurse I am today.

Every difficult decision I face in my career I will always ask myself "What would Bev do?" This is because the well-being of her staff and delivering quality care to her patients are central to everything she does. I think Bev should be so proud of the legacy she has created in SIM, also developing many of the current leaders in LTHT and the leaders of the future.
