My mother was a patient on 4 south. Beverly was not her nurse on this day but helping all the nurses as needed. That morning when I arrived at my mother's room she was covered in blood and it was pouring out of her nose. There were multiple people in the room as she needed constant help and suctioning. On the outside looking in Beverly was the one who never faltered. She was my mom's true patient advocate. It's been a year since my mom died during this hospital stay, looking back I thank God every day that Beverly was there with my mom that day. She was truly our angel that day.
My mom and family felt more at ease knowing that Beverly was there to be her advocate. She is really amazing. I see her with other patients and she is the same with every patient she cares for. I have also seen her in the cafeteria buying food for a patient's family because they could not afford to buy food. She is the person I think of when I think of excellent patient care.
