I don't know a time when Beverly Maiolo does not demonstrate teamwork. She is always ready to help and be involved when needed and if we aren't already asking for help, she will always ask if her help is needed or if there is anything she can do to help. Whether it's helping a patient with an iodine allergy to cleaning up a patient who had an accident.
We had a patient who could not control her bowels during an outpatient CT scan. We called on Beverly who came right away and in no time had warm clothes and towels. Beverly made her feel appreciated and comfortable and treated her like it was her own mother. Even though the patient was embarrassed, she quickly became comfortable in Beverly's presence. This goes to show that Beverly is not only caring and compassionate, she also enjoys being a nurse and never complains. If I were ever to be a patient I would want someone just like Beverly to be my nurse.
Beverly shows Mercy with every interaction. She will always greet the patients with a smile and ask how they are doing. She won't hesitate to go out of her way to help them. If it is needing a wheelchair or even a ginger ale. She will stay late to sit with a patient who doesn't feel well enough to go home, or simply listen to them when the patient needs to talk. Among the many stories, I can relay most end with a patient hugging Beverly with compliments and it warms my heart to see the smile she puts on their faces even when they are in pain.
If nursing wasn't a paid job, I am sure she would volunteer and do it out of pure kindness. Beverly can be super busy doing something and if you need her, she will find a way to make herself available. Whether it's eating a late lunch which she often does or going out of her way to call a doctor's office after hours, there is no stopping Beverly. She consistently does the best she can for all the patients. When working with Beverly there is a sense of relief. She is an amazing co-worker and friend. We can trust working with Beverly in any and every situation. She works so hard, yet it is so happy to do so.
