Beverly Watson is a very compassionate nurse who has worked her entire career in psychiatry/behavioral health. Bev is a leader, team player, and is highly attuned to the needs of her patients. Bev is the most conscientious nurse on the unit and ensures that when she works, all patients get the best care. She advocates for her patient, as she will do what's right, not what is easiest. Bev ensures everyone is bathed, and that all pertinent information is recorded and documented in the medical record. Bev comes to all meetings whether required or not because she is such a highly engaged associate. Bev has an intensity for the dignity of her patients, and for them completing activities of daily living. This seems small, but in the geriatric population, self-care is often the last on the list of priorities; but the most essential piece that helps individuals feel better. Our patients are often depressed, cannot eat, brush their hair, or get dressed on their own, but Bev ensures they do. Patients are often like a new person when Bev gets done with them, and their behavior often improves. Bev has excellent relationships with her co-workers as well, and often advocates for them. Bev is always professional in her demeanor with her team and her patients. There isn't a birthday or life event that Bev doesn't celebrate with our unit because of her engagement. Bev shows up and goes above and beyond every day. I am so grateful for her on the unit. She truly is the anchor to the senior team and we are lucky to have her.
