Beverly is extraordinary nurse whom I work with. She is a leader but most of all a real person. She is a very hard-working individual. She is the type of a person that treats you like a family member. If there is a family member of Same Day Surgery who is going to surgery, Beverly will be proactive. She will always make sure she is there on the day of surgery. Of all the people that I know at KU, Beverly is my favorite nurse and a big sister.

Beverly is our Unit Coordinator. She is an inspiration to all of us. She comes in earlier than everyone else to ensure all will run smoothly when the patients arrive. With her upbeat positive attitude, she sets the mood for a better experience for our patients. Bev will make a quick friend and bond with the patients and families. They feel like this is a big place but feels small and friendly and the care is great (to paraphrase many patients). She is a great resource, she learns the skills that the nurses need (including O2) and will patiently help with any issue. When no one else can get an I.V., she is there, she even distracts them with a kind conversation, caring touch and good humor. Beverly is an exemplary nurse and kind person. I consider myself very fortunate to work with.

Bev has made a difference for all our patients here is Same Day Surgery. Her focus is what's best for the patient. She'll bond with them, and is concerned for their safety and their comfort. She will do what she can to expedite their surgery. Her skills are unbeatable. Staff members and even our anesthesiologist will go to her with a difficult I.V. stick. Bev is the go-to-person with any problem. I have never seen a more methodical troubleshooter in my 30 years of nursing. She opens our unit at 3:30 in the morning to help the surgery day go smoother. She cares deeply for the patients and for her staff. She'll take up a collection when someone is in need.
