Bhakti Patel, RN

My husband experienced chest pains, and I immediately drove him to the Ochsner Emergency Room on Jefferson Highway, where he was seen by Cardiology and admitted to the Cardiac Step-Down Unit. Everyone in the unit was so kind and so competent, but his nurse, Bhakti, was so excellent that I determined immediately that I would nominate her for the DAISY Award. Bhakti not only nursed my husband with great empathy, care, concern, and professionalism; she was also mentoring a new hire the entire time. Her patience and expertise were amazing! I feel so much gratitude toward Bhakti for the wonderful treatment we received. I also am deeply grateful, as a retired nurse myself, that someone like Bhakti will be teaching new generations of nurses for years to come. We were in the hospital for a short time, yet Bhakti made a huge impression.
