I want to express my deepest gratitude for the care of my nurse I had all night shift. Of all my recent caregivers duing my sickle cell admissions, this nurse showed genuine concern for me. I described this nurse as warm, a cool person, and a person who treated me like an individual and not just another patient. She treated me like she knew me, like she had been my nurse before, and she was happy to see me again. I was frustrated about not being able to get some one to address what I believed was the abnormality in my hip or spine. But at 1:00 a.m., when I was awake, this nurse came as she usually does, right on time with my pain medication and medication and noticeD I was in a emotional state. I asked her to look at my hip and she did using the words, "I'm here." This nurse validated my concerns and was able to get a hold of the on call physician to order an X-ray. This nurse provided both emotional and physical support. I needed both of these things and this nurse was there when I needed her. I want to express my deepest gratitude for the time and attention she provided.
