Bill's manager nominated him stating "Bill came to me with a great idea to improve communication with our freign-language-speaking patients". He asked for a set of external speakers for a PACU WOW (Workstation On Wheels) so that when he had a pediatric patient who didn't speak English, he could Google translate. When you pick the language, it speaks the word like, 'Mom' in the patient's own language. This is a wonderful idea because parents cannot come back to the PACU and this helps comfort the child. It can also be used for adults. We had the speakers installed and Bill took it upon himself to in-service his coworkers on how to do this well. Congratulations Bill!
