My child is nonverbal and autistic. Bill is always very patient with my child. My child is also a very hard stick, and Bill always gets the IV on the first stick. Bill is also a very calming presence and is so good with my child. We have been there many times, and Bill always stands out. He goes above and beyond every time. For example, he came into the room to talk to us before he came in to start the IV. He wanted to make sure we were on board with and good with the plan. Once he was sure we were comfortable, he got the supplies and started my child’s IV again on the first try.

Bill took the time to talk to us. He doesn’t make us feel like a number or another box to check off. When we have to come in for surgery, I always look for Bill. When we arrived for this surgery and saw that Bill was here, I immediately felt more comfortable and said, “I am so glad he has not retired yet.” I wanted to be sure to let someone know so he can get some much-deserved recognition.
