My wife and I are nominating Billy Jo Carney for the DAISY Award for a multitude of reasons. The most outstanding of which is her genuine concern and care for my wife's well-being, both physically and mentally. Billy Jo was with my wife for 3 shifts on 3 separate days and never waivered from her positive attitude and show of concern. Billy Jo was my wife's little ray of sunshine for 2 days and made my wife's stay in her unit much more bearable. Billy Jo was very thorough and paid great attention to detail. Though I would have loved for her to spend her whole shift with my wife, I appreciate the fact that she seemed to spend as much time with each of her patients. She washed my wife's hair one day, which thrilled my wife. On the day my wife was discharged, Billy Jo stayed after her shift was over to personally wheel my wife down to my vehicle.

I could write pages about our experience with Billy Jo but I will end by saying that Billy Jo Carney is a shining example of a professional nurse that any nurse or medical professional in any department could follow and be well rounded and well admired for what they do and represent.
