Bilyana Brashkova, known to everyone as BB, radiates Baptist Health qualities. I have floated to the Emergency Department several times. BB takes her time with each patient to make sure they receive the best care possible. An elderly man brought in by JFRD who is hard of hearing, could not accurately answer the questions asked by both the emergency room doctor and BB. He required a lot of attention and patience. As I was attempting to get an EKG, the patient had a difficult time remaining still. BB conversed with the patient helping him remain still while the EKG was performed. The patient required several different labs. The BB thoroughly explained what was going on and why. As a nursing student, it was both educational for the patient and me to see the type of nursing being provided. The entire time the patient was in the emergency department, BB maintained her composure exemplifying what a Baptist Health nurse should be. BB has been this way for each of her patients. This was just one of the recent experiences. BB has guided me with each patient I had the pleasure of caring for in the emergency room. BB explains the rationale behind nursing prioritizations and interventions. If I was to be a patient, I would like to have BB as my nurse. As a future nurse, I hope my preceptor teaches like BB does. I look forward to working with BB again.
