My 80-year-old aunt was a patient on the 6th floor. She is currently a resident of a nursing home. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, they play Bingo. My Aunt plays bingo weekly to win prizes so that she has gifts to give to our family for holidays. She was upset about not being able to make it to Bingo during her hospitalization and so the staff on the 6th floor made her a bingo game that she could play and ease her discomfort while in the hospital. Also, my aunt's favorite meal is banana sandwiches, and she was asking for one. Even though she was hard to understand due to her speech, Chasity spent the time and understood that was what she was requesting. Chasity then made her a banana sandwich for dinner and even passed it along to other nurses so that they would do the same. I am very thankful for all that they did in making her well, but especially them making her feel at home with less anxiety about being in the hospital.
