Bjoern Ullmann, BSN, RN, CCRN

My father was admitted to the ICU. During that time, we were blessed to have Bjoern caring for my father all day, every day, four days in a row. He was on top of everything- managing my father’s intense pain, keeping him clean and comfortable, and communicating with my family and the care team. He was always polite, patient, knowledgeable, and compassionate. When Bjoern learned my father was a Vietnam veteran, he told us he was a former marine. The bond my father shared with Bjoern as a former service member enabled him to open up to Bjoern in a way no one else could. My father was reluctant to have a much-needed surgery, and Bjoern was able to rally the doctors to discuss outcomes with my father and assuage his concerns.

Bjoern is thoughtful and approachable; my father and the family trusted him. We felt relieved when we left visiting hours, knowing Bjoern was watching over my father. I recommend Bjoern for the DAISY award to thank him for his indefatigable dedication to his patients.
