Their efforts reflected a deep sense of selflessness and love for humanity during one of the most challenging periods in healthcare.
The Black Nurses Rock Delaware Chapter was the proud recipient of the 2022 DAISY Award in recognition of their extraordinary service, selflessness, empathy, compassion, and commitment to community care.
Throughout the aftermath of the pandemic, the chapter exemplified compassion, empathy, trusted teamwork, and admirable leadership, consistently placing patients and community members at the center of their work. Their efforts reflected a deep sense of selflessness and love for humanity during one of the most challenging periods in healthcare.
The chapter provided high-quality humanitarian services to some of the most vulnerable communities in Wilmington, Delaware. Members dedicated countless hours serving individuals and families in shelters and went above and beyond by assisting and supporting a family in purchasing essential items for their new home.
Further demonstrating their unwavering dedication, the Chapter President hosted a breast cancer brunch in her home to support breast cancer survivors during a time of great uncertainty. This intimate and meaningful gathering provided encouragement, education, and hope to women navigating survivorship.
The Black Nurses Rock Delaware Chapter’s impact is a true testament to the mission of nursing—service, compassion, advocacy, and community-centered care—and exemplifies the spirit of the DAISY Award.
