Our baby was a post-ECMO baby who was then transferred out to the NICU. Having a post-ECMO baby was very overwhelming, especially seeing how our baby was responding to the withdrawals of all the sedation from the medication. The nausea, diarrhea, inconsolable crying, sweating, and tremors, among other things, were too much to handle. My spouse and I felt lost, confused overwhelmed, and desperate. She has had her ups and downs, and it has been a long road for all of us.

Meeting Blaise along the way has been amazing. He is an angel sent from above. His personality and who he is as a person goes beyond the scope of nursing. His compassion and understanding of not only our baby’s condition but for us as parents means the world to us. He truly loves what he does, he is an amazing Nurse. We feel extremely grateful to have him as our Nurse and for loving and caring for our little one.
